No box spring is required in this modern platform design; the mattress is supported by strong, solid wood slats. Beneath the platform are three sliding drawers-- perfect for extra linens and clothing. If used in a kid's bedroom, they're also great for toys and books! These spacious drawers extend to half the width of the bed. Rather than having handles that can catch at the bed linens, they pull out easily from the bottom. This feature also adds to the clean, contemporary look of the bed. A matching Twin Bookcase Headboard, sold separately, can be paired with this bed!
