This product is made from Northern white cedar. Northern white cedar is unique, because it is naturally resistant to wood rot and pests. You can leave it like that, or stain it with a water based oil stain. Protect and preserve your cedar furniture with the Staining Kit. If you leave it as is, it will naturally weather to a silver gray. This is normal and adds to the character of the piece. The choice is up to you!
