Exquisite detail and exacting craftsmanship make this classic secretary desk a worthy addition to any home-- one to be admired and handed down for years to come. It has a more compact size than many secretary desks, allowing it to be placed in a corner, alcove or smaller room.
This drop front secretary desk is crafted from solid mahogany, with a hand-rubbed finish to bring out the full richness and lustre. Wave and dentil moulding run just below the overhanging cornice, with rope-twist moulding at the secretary desk′s base. Classic acanthus leaves decorate the feet.
Yet another example of fine workmanship is found in the secretary desk hutch door. It has a wood grill, with 21 individually cut, individually installed beveled glass panels. This superior feature is seen in expensive antique pieces. Inside the lighted hutch interior are two adjustable shelves for display items.
The locking drop front lid of the secretary desk conceals six pigeonholes and three small drawers for storage. There are also two hidden compartments behind the columns. At the base of the secretary desk are four elegant serpentine front drawers.
