Bed as shown, but what they don't tell you:, October 15, 2012
By IJ(california)

I got the bed fast and the assembling was easy enough for a girl without power tools. Color looked as expected. What bothered me: Before I ordered I was researching if a boxspring or else is needed for this bed. No info, so I expect I can put my nice Tempur-pedic mattress down and go. When the bed arrived it came with three (three!!!) slats. You put a mattress on three slat, your butt will end up in a whole by the end of the night. I had to make a run to home depot and purchase more. Okay, that isn't the worst of it. But even though my mattress is a nice deep one, there is a big hole in the headboard. What you CAN'T SEE IN THE PICTURE is that the headboard isn't solid. I don't know what kind of mattress you have to put there to close it. Putting a box spring in the bottom brings it too high, so it looks ridiculous at the foot end. So NOW my pillows fall through that hole at night and I am fishing pillows in the morning from behind headboard. ANNOYING! I am really irritated. WHO does that? Why the gap? I have looked at many beds and never seen this kind of opening anywhere. SAD. If it has a purpose, I can't see it.
