the rice paper lanterns tear sooo easily it doesn't take much to tear. and they are so difficult to find replacements for. in chinatown they are either too big or too small. but nothing to fit the size for the design of this lamp. also the bottom of unscrews very easily .. even just from moving it to vacuum and then that disrupts the positioning of the entire piece cuz it all starts to move and becomes cumbersome trying to twist it at the bottom to fit snuggly and stand up securely. i have had to place a brick on the bottom of it to make it stan up straight. while you are doing all that... add another tear to your rice papare lantern.
other than this it is a cool looking lamp.
