Bed Benches
What may seem like a luxury could be a necessity. If you've never thought about having a bed bench in your home, stop and think about the possibilities.
A bed bench can provide:
- Extra seating for dressing
- Additional storage space
- Place for putting bedspreads and covers at night
- Accent piece for a bedroom or other part of your home
And they require very little space. Most are about 4 feet wide and less than 2 feet deep.
If those possibilities haven't piqued your interest, consider the variety of styles
- Traditional - Some with cabriole legs, plush seats, decorative treatments
- Contemporary - Some with flared legs, leather seats, dark finishes
- Country or Cottage - Some with wicker baskets, sleigh-style armrests, light wood or white finishes
- Transitional - Some with steel wire design, tapered posts, upholstered bench, blending classic and modern
- Mission - Some with slatted sides, mission oak finish
With most styles come practical features:
- Cubbies, 2 or more, for storage
- Storage box
- Upholstered seat, in various fabrics and leather
A children's bed bench has a lid with a top-release hinge for storing toys, books, bedroom linens and other items.
What if you don't need a bench at the foot of your bed? Consider other options:
- Could your vanity table use an attractive bed bench for seating?
- Is there an empty spot in your bedroom that could use an attractive accent piece?
- Does a hallway or guest room need a furnishing for storage or a pleasing decoration?
Bed benches can add a bit of flair, a touch of elegance and additional storage for a bedroom or other rooms. All that's required is for you to envision the possibilities of a bed bench in your home!
